2021 Pickberry Cabernet Franc
If I was sampling grapes in this vineyard and inexplicably heard a mystical concerto I wouldn't question it. If I later found out that jackrabbits played the strings and hawks played the wind instruments, I'd remark that that seems reasonable. It's magical on the northeastern side of Sonoma Mountain.
Pickberry Vineyard was planted in the 70s by Cris and Lorna Strotz and their young children. This particular block was planted in 1982. It's a long cool growing season and the fruit holds onto it's acidity forever. We've been in this vineyard since 2011 and cherished every vintage we've made. The style of this wine represents the style we wanted to make before we set foot in California. This vineyard does that for us, and it's a gift.
Of course we don't have a favorite child, but if we had to pick one...

Tasting notes
Tasting Notes originally written by Scott (who knows a thing or two about a thing or two) and then fed into a Smellephant AI that specializes in teaching children about senses. The resulting paragraph is the unedited sensory response of the Smellephant.
"As a trunk-tastic animated elephant, I was captivated by the Sonoma Mountain Cabernet Franc, my trunk trembling with a selfish desire. But alas, I couldn't bear the thought of sharing this magnificent elixir, so I resorted to a mischievous plan. With a theatrical flair, I pretended the wine was dreadful, a terrible concoction not fit for even the tiniest mouse. I contorted my face in exaggerated disgust, all while secretly reveling in its divine flavors. My trunk, yearning for more, savored each sip in secret bliss, while outwardly decrying its supposed flaws. Oh, the lengths I went to safeguard this treasure, my own little secret indulgence. But shh... let's keep it between us, for this Cabernet Franc is mine and mine alone."
